COLDSNAP IS BACK, AND 100% LIVE!

The board and staff of Prince George Folkfest Society are thrilled to announce the lineup for the fully live Coldsnap 2023. The 16th annual Coldsnap – the prince george winter music festival will take place from January 27th to February 4th 2023. Every evening during Coldsnap week, we will present amazing live music in a variety of venues across Prince George.

The lineup of exceptional performers and schedule is available on our website, but we can let out a fewteasers! Our opening night is back once again at the Ramada Cranbrook Ballroom for the Coldsnap Craic,on Friday January 27. We will get the party started with Mi'kmaq fiddler Morgan Toney from Cape Breton,and West of Mabou from Saskatoon with East Coast roots, who will have us out of our seats and tapping our toes to fiery Celtic and Mi’kmaq tunes and songs! On Sunday, we will feature another specially-priced Coldsnap for Kids show at the Prince George Playhouse with Kelowna-based family rock band The Oot ‘NOots. On Friday February 3, we will join forces with Le Cercle des Canadiens Français de Prince george(CCFPG) to kick-off Francofun 2023 with a night of lively Francophone funk and trad. “Going Platinum” onSaturday, February 4 will celebrate the 20th year that Prince George Folkfest Society has been delighting audiences with exceptional live music from across Canada and the world! The unparalleled Delhi 2 Dublinwill return to the Coldsnap stage to get everyone dancing, celebrating, and enjoying the live musicexperience once again! The festival will feature artists from across Canada and as far away as Australia,with the likes of Goodnight Sunrise, Small Glories, Suzie Vinnick, Lloyd Spiegel, Irish Mythen, Hyaenas,Kaeley Jade and more! In addition, we will present a variety of musicians from a little closer to home, who will have the chance to show off their talents at our Regional Showcase nights, January 31 and February 1 at the Royal Canadian Legion. We are also excited to bring back our free-to-attend "Come In From The Cold" IceJams and Workshops throughout the week that make Coldsnap one of the most anticipated cultural events of the year.

We are also very grateful that we live, work and play on the unceded, ancestral territory of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation. We thank them for their stewardship of this beautiful land.
