Celeigh Cardinal returns to Prince George for Dak’et, Shun Inli 2024 at Knox Performance Centre October 26, 2024
Prince George Folkfest Society board and staff are excited to announce our fall event, Dak’et, Shun Inli 2024! Dak’et, Shun Inli is “Music in the Fall” in the Dakelh language and, with support from Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, we are celebrating arts on Lheidli T’enneh Territory with an evening of fantastic live music!
Our evening concert on October 26th will feature JUNO Award winning artist and Coldsnap alum, Celeigh Cardinal as well as emerging Edmonton-based supergroup, AV & the Inner City. This eclectic evening of music will weave together elements of soul, roots and blues. These artists all push the boundaries of genre to create music that is new and exciting - this evening of music cannot be missed!
On Saturday, October 26th, doors will open at 7:00 PM, with the show starting at 7:30 PM at Knox Performance Centre (1448 5th Ave) on Lheidli T'enneh territory in Downtown Prince George. Tickets are $35 (plus taxes and fees) and are available online starting today!
Opening the evening show will be AV & the Inner City, a soul/roots group formed during the pandemic and opioid crisis in the inner city of Edmonton. In February 2024, they released their debut single, Low and Lowly, followed up with Music Always in May.
Celeigh Cardinal owns a stage, connecting deeply through humour and vulnerability. She has received many accolades including the 2020 JUNO Award for Indigenous Artist of the year, as well as awards and nominations from the CBC Music Awards, Western Canadian Music Awards and Edmonton Music Awards.
This event is also a warm up to Coldsnap – the prince george winter music festival. Coldsnap 2025 will be held February 5 to 9th, and (at least some) details will be released at Dak’et, Shun Inli!
Prince George Folkfest Society appreciates the support and collaboration offered by Lheidli T’enneh First Nation. We are very grateful that we present the healing power of live music on the unceded, ancestral lands of LTFN, and we thank them for their stewardship of this beautiful land.
Venue and artists subject to change.
